Star of the Park
A prince among dogs.
Well-bred and gallant.
He’s Cooper. My dog
The star of the park,
Where shaggy mutts bark.
They wrestle and chase
As if we should notice.
But Cooper ignores them.
His frisbee is held
So firm in his jaws.
His gold and white markings,
His hair-feathered legs
They accent his movement
As he prances apace
With an effortless grace.
He still suffers humans
Who say he’s so handsome
And stroke his soft fur.
Other dogs though?
They’re not worth a mention
They waste his attention
Because his name is Cooper,
The catcher of frisbees!
The star of the park.
